Take your Facebook Page boosting to the next level
Boosting posts on Facebook
If you’re running a Facebook Page, I’m sure you’ve come across the “Boost Post” button after you’ve posted content. If you haven’t you’re probably living under a rock. Facebook now even puts up “Sponsor This Post” example posts in your timeline to try and entice you!
Boosting your Facebook Page posts is easy and simple to set-up. Once you have posted your content, you can click on the “Boost Post” button and you’ll then be asked to identify an audience to target.
The pre-identified audiences include:
People who like your page
People who like your page and their friends
People you choose through targeting
The “People you choose through targeting” option allows you to identify the location, sex, and age group you would like to target. You can then also add demographics, interests and behaviours to narrow your audience. Facebook will give you suggestions and you can even browse categories. Once that’s done you can choose how much you want to spend and how long the boost will last. Very cool and very easy.
This front-end way of boosting posts is straight forward, however there’s a whole world of Audience creation options in what I’m calling the back-end of Facebook: Ads Manager.
Next Level Facebook ish… Ads Manager
Through Ads Manager’s Custom Audience creation option you can:
Import your mailing list directly from MailChimp
Import your mailing list from a .csv file
Target people who have visited your website by using Facebook’s PIXEL (you’ll need to upload html code to your website so Facebook can track the data)
Target people who have engaged with your Facebook page for the past 365 days (or however many days you identify)
Target people who have watched your videos by the amount of time they have spent watching your video.
Through the Ad Campaign function you can event target people by:
When their birthday is
Their employer (company and location).
Travel – if they’re frequent travellers or have just returned from a holiday
Level of education
Plus plenty more options.
These Custom Audience opportunities can be used across any industry to make sure your ads reach a specific type of user. Please get in touch if you would like to learn more about taking your Facebook advertising to the next level.
